This week’s dose of d & s and a few sneak peeks…

Man, this week crushed me. I crashed about 6.30 p.m. Wednesday evening just when I was suppose to be leaving for my first tennis practice. Bummer cause I love those girls and was really looking forward seeing them and smacking the ball around. But ole Jenny was busy making things pretty, earning her keep and quite frankly couldn’t keep up the pace I had going. I’m starting to see the light on my second major renovation this year and I thought I’d give you a little taste.
Before….
After….

Ahhhhhhh….ain’t isn’t it great? So calm and serene. LOVE. IT. The t.v. will be hidden behind something fabulous, so three cheers for that. I told my client, I sure hope you like company cause come Winter time my junk will be sitting right here sipping on hot cocoa with a little somethin, somethin mixed in. 😉

Shhh don’t tell the U.S. Government but we used nickels to cover the Jack and Jill bathroom floor! Crazy fun for the two siblings that will be sharing this space and there is some good family folklore to back it up. Who needs expensive penny round tile when you’ve got the good ole U. S. of A.?! I can’t wait to share this house with you when we are finished. Lots of inspiring details for all!

Moving on, I spent the majority of my time working on the new project I started last week. We’ve made great progress but still have a lot of editing, purging and painting to do. Here’s a little peek of the dining room chairs.

Before…

After…

The new print goes great with the rug we relocated from the living room in anticipation of new hardwood floors on the main level. The homeowner has a really gorgeous faux finish on the walls that looks like leather. That little pop of cheetah print on all six chairs brought a totally fresh perspective to the dining room, looks more “today” and only cost $68! Much more to come on this.

And the hits keep on coming. Do you all remember me asking you to say a tiny prayer that I might land this exciting new job  in one of my favorite places on earth? Well you all came through for me! Come this weekend I’ll be headed down to Seagrove Beach soaking up this view while I measure, photograph, sketch and dream up my design plan. It will definitely be a challenge being its five hours away but I’m up for it. And considering the interior is pretty much a dump the transformation will be incredible and make for great fodder here on the blog. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on that. xo

And now time for some fash-on news. A friend of mine sent me this link to a local Michigan gal who designs all vegan handbags and names them after towns in the mitten. I’m a little ticked there isn’t a Flat Rock or Downriver (lol) but we won’t hold it against Jenna Kator. Check them out here. I’m partial to the Petoskey bag myself. Way to go Jenna. We blue-collar girls are all about supporting the locals. Buy American, buy Michigan we always say.

Speaking of Fall fashion (its… the most… wonderful time… of the year!) a friend tipped me off that Karl Lagerfeld is launching a line at Macy’s and its STELLAR, especially at an average price point of $49 bucks. And if you’re looking for additional discounts and cashback deals at Macy’s, then head to this website to learn more!

One of the big must haves for Fall is tweed. Below is one of a handful of tweed pieces Mr. Lagerfeld has designed for us fashion wannabes that carry a cash-conservative wallet. Cha-ching.

View the entire collection here and yo, don’t be buying up all the leather skinny pants before I get a pair. What do you think I’ve been training so hard for? ;-))))) I plan to wear them dressed down like this combo here from my style board on Pinterest.

Another big buzz word this season is the loafer. Thanks to my bf who sent me the piperlime coupon, I made the painstaking decision to purchase these little pretties, out of the hundreds of gorgeous shoes on that website. Talk about decisions! What do you think??? I was digging the two toned, two texture, tassel details.

They’re from Tracy Reese’s “Plenty” line and if you all don’t know who Tracy is, you need to. She designs fabulous feminine flirty cloths. I’m hoping these fit and are comfortable. If not, I’m sending them back for a griege riding boot to break up all the black in my Winter wardrobe.
And that wraps it up for me doll face! I need to get my head together and pack for the beach as it will be like camping inside the condo project. Air mattresses, check. Towels, check. Lawn chairs, check. Music, check. Wine, check – check. Wish me luck and ENJOY YOUR LABOR DAY HOLIDAY!!! I sound like a broken record every year at this time but “God knows we’ve all labored and earned it!” Time to take it down a notch and enjoy the ride. God bless ya!
xx
