If I were paid to pick…

Two of my favorite t.v. shows are Picker Sisters and American Pickers and what designer doesn’t dream about having his or her own storefront to style and showcase their skills, even if its just for a little while? So when I was perusing through one of my local stops on the circuit it was a “hit” kind of day and compelled me to photograph all the great finds and great prices I would of selected had I owned such a spot.
This Belgian-inspired chaise for the bedroom. To die and so is the vintage gold and cream dress laying at the foot!

I would of killed for this French Provincial dining table in my first house as a young married couple, two ruffled benches on either side would have been a dream.

I’m totally in love with these 1950’s retro gold lamps! Tried to make them work for a client and then me. I know they’ll end up on the should of bought list. Also a big fan of the oversized herringbone pattern on the barstools to the right. Classic pattern oversized for today’s modern world.

See what it did for this antique chair from the super-talented Fran Keenan. Great examples of antique chairs can be purchased over at antiquesworld.co.uk, a leading UK based antiques dealer. This precious bedroom was her daughters with quilt curtains, alphabet stencils and family heirloom furniture. See her entire creative and inspirational home HERE featured in Cottage Living.

This beautiful petite antique chandelier would go ANYWHERE and if my memory serves me right it was around $300 or less.

I love everything about this vignette. The starburst mirror, the crystal lamps (hubba hubba) and the antique mule pine chest which is very similar to the amish handcrafted furniture I’ve had my eye on.

Hah! Don’t do it…;-)

Love this shape and scale for lampshades and not so easy to come by when needed.

Reminded me of these wood veneer pendants I came across recently at Cost Plus World Market that also come in burlap (!), not yet featured on their website. All three for $59. Buy two sets and share a matching pair with a friend.

How cute is this for a breakfast table?

This desk was a find, rock solid and less than $400! It looked to me like a very expensive and very impressive piece of furniture. You?

Custom-built lamps out of old porch pickets.

I went back to purchase this antique pine chest for my son’s bedroom and sadly it was gone. The time to buy antiques is when you see them. I guess you could always look for antiques for sale online uk instead though! This saves the disappointment of turning up to a store and learning that the item has sold.

This pillow caught my eye and so did the iron door behind it. So many possibilities for both.

Great looking column and shutter. I’m a slave to pairs though…had they had two I might of had to splurge for the dining room or on either side of my front door in the foyer. Be cute with white pumpkins set atop this time of year. Notice the Country Living Fair brochures coming soon to Atlanta the weekend of October 21st. Yours truly will be there camera in tow.

This is a FANTASTIC dining table. I bet if they cleared it of all the dishes it would sell in a day.

Great lines on this bentwood chair. Would work in many different themes.

Cute side table for $45 small ones. Wire basket equally impressive. These look really great suspended on walls as shelves.

This hip little chair has tons of potential.

Awesome basket for the beach house, the hearth, the bath or the mud room in your life.

The palladium window tucked behind caught my eye. A great focal piece in any room.

This vintage waiter is the best! I thought in a kitchen with a candle perched on its tray.

Just an all around beautiful vignette from the santos figure, the butcher block (would make a great island in a small kitchen) and the vintage pigskin for the sports enthusiast, to name a few.

and lastly a great idea to get you in the spirit.

HAPPY FALL TO YOU ALL!!!!!
