Serenbe, Georgia

Chances are you’ve heard about the community of Serenbe. An organic slice of heaven that has been written up in numerous publications and won many awards for its 1,000 acres of sustainable living.

My bestie Jen (or lovingly referred to as KoKo or Kozik), was in town with her sweeter-than-pie daughter Julia recently.  We stopped for lunch in Serenbe on our way to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain (more on that hilariousness later) and it was a great call!  Moreover, we were blessed with a stunner of a day…

Taken from their website, “It is a national model for the future of balanced development in the U.S.—focusing on land preservation, agriculture, energy efficiency, green building, walkability, high density building, arts and culture, and community living for multiple generations.” Discover more about SERENBE HERE

my favorite house in the hood…

You know how I feel about those big fat columns.  I wanna wrap my arms and legs around them they are so good looking!
Couldn’t get enough of it. Blessed am I to live in a similar neighborhood that was built by Hedgewood Homes, the predominant builder in the evolution of Serenbe. I have to find out if by chance the floor plans for this beauty are still floating around somewhere. Would love to see what the inside entails!
This Victorian charmer was open and currently for sale…
That’s what I’m talking about…may you forever be a kid at heart. xo
Speaking of hearts, do yours a favor this Spring/Summer and hang some outdoor drapes somewhere in your home environment. Sit, sip, listen and watch them blow in the breeze (and if you can’t figure out a spot, send me pics, I’ll help you find one).
Long live the “SPREE” from our childhood. It was so fun to feel so free in those teen angst years.
Things I cannot live without… gas lanterns…
goosenecks…
And twinkle lights…
And this SINK?! The public ladies restroom.
For Eng…

I dream in pea gravel

A beautiful green salad at The Hil, a farm to table restaurant.  I could have eaten a troth of these greens. Not a bad looking margarita either . 😉
The bar at The Hil. Cozy and gorgeous.

Outdoor dining

New friends…

And goodies for dessert

I wanna work here…

Gorgeous ceiling treatment and WOW what a fan! We recently installed this same wood to my friend’s powder room wall and paired it with kick a@@ 18th century French iron shield sconces I found at a flea market. Looking forward to showing you that project soon but it was recently photographed for a national publication (Can you stand it?!) so all in good time.

For Lisa…

Do you have a tiny alcove or pass through space you could jazz up with some reclaimed wood???

The vision…

the beautiful concept…

One of my favorite things in life is the old school borax soap dispensers! Must get one of these for the kiddos bathroom. Half the reason I love going to Ted’s Montana Grill so much…and maybe for their new Avalon burger too. Close second.

Bye bye Serenbe, you are lovely!

THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO MY ONE AND ONLY OLDER SISTER JACQUELINE LEE HEHL. TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY! SHE ROCKS AND I COULD WRITE MANY BLOGS JUST ON HER AND I’S SISTERHOOD. I LOVE MY SISTER!

  1. I am putting Serenbe in my list of US roadtrip places. I live on the east coast and love finding new places. It looks like a great place to visit. Thank you for sharing. And Happy Belated Anniversary!
